What is homecare?
Home care, also known as in-home care or domiciliary care, refers to a wide range of health and supportive services provided in a person’s home.
This type of care is designed to help individuals with their daily living activities and medical needs, allowing them to stay in their own homes, rather than moving to a facility like a nursing home or assited living center.

How can homecare help me?
For many people, arranging care at home can offer several benefits. Homecare can allow patients and their families to remain in their own homes, which promotes independence and also allows people to stay in a familiar environment without the upheaval of moving into a residential care setting for example. Homecare can also give peace of mind to families, reducing fall or injury risks and minimizing rehospitalizations and clients can maintain their independence and stick to familiar routines that residential and nursing homes are unable to provide.
How can I arrange homecare?
At MeriMati in-home care, we are always available for an honest and discrete conversation about your homecare requirements. Even if you’re unsure of what type of homecare might be suitable for you, our team has a tailor-made care plan centered around the individual, and allow you to be as involved in the process as you wish. You can contact our team to guide you through the process, depending on your preferences.

A Tribute to Compassionate Care
At 14, Karla arrived in Canada as an immigrant, feeling lost and facing the challenges of adapting to a new culture and language. In high school, she found purpose in volunteering at a local retirement home, where she met Mona, a 99-year-old women who became her mentor and surrogate grandmother. Mona reminded Karla of her grandmothers in Ecuador. Forming a deep bond through Mona, Karla understood the challenges of facing old age alone without company and the crucial importance of having close relationships and human connections.
